CASE 001 / THE PHANTM
FILE ID: PRS-001
STATUS: Active | ONGOING INVESTIGATION
CLASSIFICATION: ENT. - ENTITY
THreat level: V
PRIORITY: Alpha
PRS-001 is a classified anomalous presence known to investigators as "THE PHANTM," a designation coined after its initial recorded sighting.
Tracing back to the debut of "enterthetwilightzone," this entity has maintained a consistent level of activity, most notably through the recent distribution of a six-track EP titled "egregore."
Its influence has even birthed a following within civilian sectors; specialized researchers are currently debating whether this fascination is a primary psychological effect of the entity itself.
Manifestations of PRS-001 are characterized by repeating iconography, corrupted audio/visual files, spatial abnormalities, and immersive real-world events. Field reports frequently cite subjects who encounter ghost insignia shortly before experiencing intense lucid dreams, sudden dejà vu, or the unshakable conviction that they have navigated unknown locations.
Evidence suggests the entity utilizes transmission through collective awareness and visual observation rather than through physical interaction.
Analytic debates continue over whether PRS-001 is a sentient, autonomous mind or a memetic tulpa formed by shared human belief.
While its core motivations persist as an enigma, the Society has prioritized high-level surveillance to monitor its evolution.
FIELD NOTES
PHENEOMENON A: INSIGNIA MANIFESTATION
Investigators have documented the recurring appearance of the PRS-001 insignia across abandoned structures, deteriorating media, handwritten documents, and private property. In every confirmed case, forensic examination found no evidence of conventional application, environmental weathering, or human interference.
Several documented manifestations disappeared without explanation during prolonged observation.
PHENEOMENON B: MEMORY DISPLACEMENT
Witnesses consistently report vivid dream-states, intense déjà vu, and persistent sensations of anemoia—describing overwhelming nostalgia for locations, people, and experiences that cannot be historically verified.
Subjects frequently state these memories feel significantly more tangible than their own lived experiences.
Repeated exposure appears to increase both the frequency and clarity of these episodes.
PHENEOMENON C: RECURRING VISUAL PRESENCE
Witnesses periodically describe a shrouded figure materializing and vanishing within active investigation sites.
The figure is rarely seen directly and is most often reported at significant distance or within transitional spaces such as forests, corridors, or abandoned structures.
Despite consistent eyewitness testimony, photographic and video documentation has repeatedly failed to reproduce the reported observations.

RECOVERED EVIDENCE
EVIDENCE LOG 001: VHS CAMCORDER
Recovered from an abandoned residence approximately 4 km outside Lafayette Parish.
The device contained over three hours of degraded footage depicting abandoned interiors, wooded environments, and repeated appearances of the PRS-001 insignia.
Several recordings also captured distorted electronic music and fragmented voice recordings not believed to have originated from the camera operator.
Investigators have been unable to identify the individual responsible for the recordings.
Documented within a derelict warehouse scheduled for demolition following an anonymous civilian report.
The symbol appeared across a deteriorated concrete wall despite laboratory analysis confirming the absence of paint, pigment, chemical residue, or physical alteration to the surface.
The manifestation gradually faded over the course of forty-eight hours while under continuous observation.
No additional markings were detected after its disappearance.
EVIDENCE LOG 002: SPRAY-PAINTED INSIGNIA
EVIDENCE LOG 003: CHILDREN'S DRAWING
Recovered following a voluntary incident report submitted by the child's mother on 12 July 2026.
The reporting individual contacted the Paranormal Research Society after observing her seven-year-old son repeatedly drawing the same unidentified symbol over a period of approximately three weeks.
According to the report, the child filled numerous sketchbooks, loose sheets of paper, and even household surfaces with the insignia despite having no known exposure to previous PRS investigations or publicly released case material.
When interviewed by investigators, the child stated that the image had "just appeared in my head one day" and that he was unable to stop thinking about it.
When asked why he continued drawing the symbol, he responded:
"If I don't draw it, I forget something... but I don't know what."
A review of the family's internet history, personal media, and social contacts revealed no identifiable source from which the child could have encountered the insignia.
Forty-three drawings were recovered and entered into Archive Storage. While each illustration varied in quality and proportion, all contained the same geometric characteristics consistent with previously documented PHANTM manifestations.
No additional behavioral abnormalities were observed during the initial interview.
The family has voluntarily agreed to participate in ongoing cognitive observation.

ANALYSIS
REFERENCE ID: PRS-001-A
DATE: 20 JULy 2026

Since its designation as PRS-001, PHANTM has become the organization's most frequently documented anomalous phenomenon.
Unlike nearly every active investigation within the Archive Division, manifestations associated with PHANTM have been documented across geographically unrelated locations with no measurable environmental commonality. The recurrence of the insignia, coupled with the consistency of independent witness testimony, strongly suggests a single underlying source despite the continued absence of identifiable physical evidence.
Behavioral analysis indicates exposure may not require direct interaction with a contaminated site. Individuals with no documented connection to previous incidents have independently reproduced identical symbols, reported recurring dreams involving unfamiliar architecture, and described a persistent feeling of recognition toward locations they have never visited.
What continues to concern me is not the frequency of these reports, but their progression.
Most anomalies remain confined to a location.
PHANTM appears to remain with the observer.
Whether this represents an entity, a self-propagating idea, or something that exists between the two remains unknown. Current classifications fail to adequately describe its behavior.
I've begun to question whether we're documenting the spread of the phenomenon or participating in it.
Until additional evidence becomes available, PRS-001 will remain under continuous observation.
No current model sufficiently explains the totality of documented events.
Perhaps that's because we've been assuming PHANTM wants to be understood.
I'm no longer convinced that it does.
